Fourth of July Weekend - City Wide

[Riverside, CA]- July 4th celebrations often include cook-outs, picnics, boating, time spent with family and friends and, of course, fireworks. But for too many Americans, the nation's annual celebration is filled with tragedy, as it is one of the deadliest holidays of the year when it comes to alcohol-impaired traffic fatalities. 

The Avoid the 30 Riverside County DUI Task Force today announced its officers will be out in full force during the 4th of July holiday weekend cracking down on impaired drivers with an aggressive DUI enforcement blitz to include Sobriety/Driver's License Checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols.


Memorial Day Weekend - City Wide

Riverside, CA - The Avoid the 30 DUI Campaign will be deploying officers this holiday weekend at DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols countywide to arrest impaired drivers who still don't get the message. 

The Memorial Day weekend is witness to the kick off of summertime recreation and holiday travel, along with many college and high school graduations seeing thousands celebrate their accomplishments. The next 100 days will also see a rise in deaths and injuries as far too many individuals get behind the wheel impaired. The California Highway Patrol is deploying all available officers Memorial Day weekend onto freeways and county roads in their jurisdiction.


Cinco De Mayo Weekend - City Wide

Cinco de Mayo is a special opportunity to gather with friends and co-workers for margaritas and chips and salsa to celebrate California's rich cultural diversity. It is also a night when dangerous and often deadly outcomes occur because another impaired driver hits the road drunk.

Riverside County Avoid the 30 DUI Task Force will be deploying overtime patrols onto city streets while CHP will be saturating the freeways and unincorporated communities. They will be looking for the signs of a drunk driver to stop, test and arrest those who have had too much alcohol.

St. Patrick's Day - City Wide

Riverside, CA-The Riverside County Avoid the 30 coalition was out in force on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, 2011, patrolling the streets for drunk drivers. The saturation patrols supplemented regularly scheduled shift deployments and were in operation from 6:00 PM until 2:00 AM.

The Avoid the 30 coalition conducted DUI saturation patrols in Banning, Canyon Lake, Coachella, Corona, Lake Elsinore, La Quinta, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Riverside, San Jacinto, Lake Perris and Temecula. These specially trained officers arrested 20 impaired drivers and removed them from the streets. The California Highway Patrol reported they arrested nine impaired drivers in Riverside County.

Christmas Weekend - City Wide

Riverside, California - The Winter Holiday Anti-DUI crackdown has resulted in a significant number of DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special AVIOD the 30 DUI deployments in Riverside County.

From 12:01 AM Friday December 17, 2010 through Midnight Monday December 27, 2010, officers representing 30 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 328 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In 2009, 381 DUI arrests occurred during the same time period.
